Raimundo Guzmán
Meet, Raimundo Guzmán! Rai moved from Chile to Canada to pursue his dream of becoming a professional mountain biker. Four years ago, one of the first people he reached out for advice was our very own, Yoann. Now, he’s turning that dream into reality and he’s eager to share what he’s learned with you. As a newcomer to the downhill World Cup scene and Crankworx events, Rai’s background as a pro BMX racer has equipped him with unique skills in pumping, generating speed, and jumping with confidence - Skills he can’t wait to share.
While Rai’s current focus is on racing, there’s a profound joy he finds in seeing other riders improve and making them able to thrive in the sport. Rai’s one wish is to transfer his abilities to others, enabling them to experience the same sensations he feels while riding. Coaching is the closest realization of that wish, offering him a way to continue working and improving daily while advancing towards his goals.
Rai began racing mountain bikes in 2021, and some of his most significant achievements to date include qualifying for his first World Cup in 2022, finishing 9th in a UCI European Cup, 6th place at DH Crankworx Cairns 2023, taking 2nd place at the UCI Pumptrack World Qualifier in Mount Sainte Anne 2023, achieving Top 10 at Pumptrack Crankworx 2023 and earning 2nd place at the BC Cup Big White - Among other podium finishes in the BC cups.
